The Bedroom Gap by Maria Sophocles, M.D. officially launched on February 10, 2026 — and what an incredible month it has been!
Within days of release, The Bedroom Gap became the #1 top seller in its Amazon category and has garnered significant press coverage. Prior to Launch, Dr. Sophocles was a guest on Good Day L.A. in an engaging segment titled “What Happens to Sex in Midlife?” discussing the book as well as the hormonal rollercoaster of perimenopause and its effects between partners. Watch it on Fox11 here.
She was also featured on Good Day New York and several other outlets as well as print publications including Hello! Magazine and Self. And on numerous podcasts including Jenni Garth’s “I Choose Me.”

But beyond the numbers and press, what has been most exciting is the momentum around the conversation itself.
This book is opening doors and starting important conversations.
It’s starting conversations about women’s health, intimacy, menopause, and midlife sexuality — topics that have long been whispered about or overlooked. Women are showing up. They’re asking questions. They’re sharing stories. And they’re grateful to finally have a resource that is both medically grounded and deeply relatable.
The launch included a pre-release event at the Arts Council of Princeton, followed by strong engagement at the ISSWSH Conference in Long Beach, CA, and a series of dynamic February appearances. Media conversations, community events, and live discussions have reinforced one powerful truth: women are ready to talk about this.
And we’re just getting started.
March continues the momentum with a launch celebration in New York City this week.
